About Me and Why I chose this Project

My name is Andrew Keen. I am 20 years old, and I am a Mechanical Engineering student at Southern Utah University. I am studying engineering because I enjoy building things, and I always have. Engineering just makes sense to me. For my project, I chose to mentor and coach a FIRST Tech Challenge team (more details in the Project Overview section). I chose to do this because I participated in FIRST Tech Challenge when I was in high school, and it was a great experience. I want to help other people to have that same experience. I learned a lot about engineering from participating in this program, and it contributed to my decision to study engineering in college. FIRST Tech Challenge teams are always looking for more help, because helping out a team is very time consuming and many people don't have that time to spare. Having an experienced mentor for this competition is very helpful, and it's an opportunity many teams don't get.
